On 30th April, eight year 9 students took up the ‘Make it Challenge’ which is sponsored by BAE Systems at Wychwood Park Hotel. Our team consisted of David Armsrong, Aiden Bentley, Elisha Eardley, Megan Looksan, Courtney Scarlett, Michael Hawkins, Ellie Butler and Christopher Steppe. The challenge on the day was to create a rescue vehicle. The team had to build this and work as a team promoting their product with a website, DVD, posters and other forms of selling. At the end of the day they had to pitch to a team of “dragons”. The judges made their decision and Maryhill High came 2nd and won a place in the regional Aerospace final later in the year. During the day Christopher also won a special award for standing out. He was one of three students who achieved this. Well done to the team, we are very proud of them all and what they achieved during the day.
