We celebrated ‘European Day of Languages’ at the Academy today and there has been plenty going on around school.
For year 7, 8 and 9 all lessons have been focused in some way on language and culture. There have been artistic montages, games of Pétanque, hunt-the-translation competitions, dressing up, Welsh, Greek, German, Irish, and also Sign Language based lessons to name but a few. Whilst year 9 student, Carina, took the year 7 assembly with a fascinating presentation about life in her native country, Romania.
It was an excellent day in which everyone in year 7, 8 and 9 took part. We all learned something new and had lots of fun doing it!
