Our October Open Evening was a great success, we welcomed families from all around the local area who joined us to take part in our interactive workshops. See below for a gallery of pictures taken at the event.
Peer Mentors, who looked after our visitors and gave guided tours, did an excellent job. Our own students from year 8 gave a presentation about their first Academy year, and ex-pupils, including our last Head Girl and Boy, came back to school to talk to the audience about UAK from a student point of view. Many people commented on how nice it was that the students themselves took the lead, and formed the central part of the evening.
There was a chance to play the ukulele, make a volcanic eruption and camp out with a skeleton as well as much building, burning, making and testing of things. To this end, much fun was had across all departments!
Thanks to everyone who came along and to all the staff and students who helped make it so enjoyable.
There is another Open Morning taking place this Friday 16th October, we welcome anyone interested to come along and see our teaching and learning in action. Please call us on 01782 948250 to book a slot for your tour of our working classrooms.
