GCSE 2014 – improved results

Students round off first year in academy with improved results.

The first set of GSCE results awarded to the University Academy Kidsgrove has seen a 5% rise in the number of students achieving five subjects at grades A* to C, including English and Maths.

In particular, Maths shows an increase of almost 10%, with more than 55% of students gaining A* to C. In English, 55% gained A* to C, with 45% of those securing A* or A grades.

There has also been substantial improvement made with individual subjects such as Science, Geography and Modern Foreign Languages, with the Resistant Materials GCSE continuing its excellent track record.

Fiona Hewardine, UAK’s Principal, said: “This is an excellent foundation for the Academy’s first results and with the continued support of the University of Chester Academies Trust (UCAT) and our other educational partners, we are looking forward to another successful year in 2015.”
