Students and staff at University Academy Kidsgrove have been praised for their hard work, dedication and commitment, as the school celebrates very positive GCSE results, including the highest marks in English since it came into being.
Principal Andy Bygrave said: “These successful results are a reflection of the continuing improvement and upward direction of the school since becoming the Academy. They mean our students can now progress with knowledge, skills and confidence on to the next stage of their education. We wish them well and look forward to hearing from them in the future.”
The results, across a range of subjects, underline the advances made by the Academy and endorse the positive comments made by OFSTED on its previous visits. English in particular was a cause for celebration – with the school celebrating its best results for four years.
Particular praise should go to the following students who all achieved six or more A*A grades:
• Jacob Evans
• Adam James
• Joseph Booth
• Paige Jenner
• Lauren Hill
• Carly Bennett.
Andy Bygrave added: “The results confirm our effective strategy of improving the fundamentals of teaching in the classroom. Quality teaching has not only benefited the students leaving in 2016, but is also having a significant impact across all age groups in all our subjects taught at University Academy Kidsgrove. I anticipate this will be confirmed further by next year’s results.”
