Knitting with Nanas

Knitting with Nanas

Students from Maryhill High School, in collaboration with Clough Hall, attended the Meadows Retirement Home to support residents in their aim of knitting baby blankets and donating them to ‘The Peter Pan Nursery for Children with Special Needs’ in Newcastle under Lyme.

A formal presentation took place at Newcastle Town Hall.

Thank you to all the students who volunteered to do this and to Mrs Roscoe (Assistant Head at Maryhill) for co-ordinating the project. Students committed to this initiative, in their own time, for six weeks during the summer term to help strengthen intergenerational relationships within the community.

The team also helped to improve the garden at the Meadows. Further support will continue in this project.
