Netball Leaders County Final

On Tuesday 7th February five Year 10 girls were selected to umpire the Primary Schools Netball County Finals and were chosen after previously helping to umpire the group stages.

On the day they were placed in charge of solely umpiring the matches up to the semi-final stage.

They showed tremendous independence and confidence throughout the day. Members of staff from other schools commented on how lovely the girls were to talk to, how well they interacted with the primary school pupils and how they conducted themselves in such a professional manner.

Mrs Castrey, Head of PE, commented: “I am extremely proud of the girls as they have grown in confidence and developed their knowledge of netball considerably.  This is great practice towards their GCSE PE practical mark and they were a real credit to the school and themselves!”

The girls who took part were: Gracie-Mae Chadwick, Fern Cadman, Megan Hancock, Rebekah Bosson and Brogan McVicker (in order on the photo from left to right).
