Newcastle Borough Council visit

Civic Offices
On Wednesday 23rd May, Student Council representatives attended a network meeting at Newcastle Borough Council offices. The pupils discussed the topic ‘What your school does well’ with other schools from the surrounding area.

Our pupils were particularly keen to share the work they do with the Youth Parliament and in particular their campaign to improve the skate park in Kidsgrove.

Our pupils also took away ideas from other schools which could be used to improve our school Student Council further.

The Mayor who was also in attendance said that the pupils represented our school well and that he was pleased to see that Student Council’s were important to everyday school life. Also on the agenda were the entries for a ‘Newcastles of the world’ project:
This event exhibits various pieces of work from school children in cities around the world that have ‘Newcastle’ in their name. There were entries from South Africa, Japan, Georgia and many more!
