On Thursday 21st April, on an uncharacteristically sunny day, 40 year 9 and 10 pupils went to Northwood Stadium to represent the school in Athletics.
All pupils performed brilliantly, showing their determination, resilience and team spirit. Some pupils were out of their comfort zone, but still participated with 100% effort to gain the team extra points. In total we won 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal.
The U15 boys relay teams both achieved gold in very exciting races. The 4 x 400m relay team consisted of Riley Copeland, Daniel Eaton, Joshua Love and Shea Rafferty. The 4 x 100m relay team comprised Ben Harrison, Ben Oakley, Brandon Zyla and Daniel Eaton.
Maddison Williams-Powell won gold in the Javelin and Daniel Eaton won silver also in the Javelin. Ben Harrison achieved bronze in the 200m and narrowly missed out in the 100m. Overall, pupils reached 8 final events.
The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and our pupils represented the school with exceptional behaviour and vigour. The 3 individual medal winning athletes will now progress to the County Athletics Championship on Saturday 11th June.
The PE department and school are extremely proud of all our athletes.
