On 20th May, the students of 8M3 were invited by Mr Chris Taylor to visit Port Vale. The students were given the opportunity to do some life skills exercises and learn a little more about how the football club operates in the community. The students went on a tour of the ground and even sat on the team benches and the students learned that the man who cuts the grass at the Vale walks 5miles every time. The students had a look at the unique feature at the Club which is the nursery group. It was possible to see mums with their babies and toddlers. PVFC is the only Club in the football league to have this kind of facility. After lunch we had a training session led by Steve who used to be at Man United as a coach and fitness trainer. Then it was back in the classroom for another exercise which involved the Vale match day programme. At the end of the session the students all received certificates recording their achievements on the day.
