On December 17th, we saw the 5th annual dance show in full swing; this year having a 90s theme. There were 40 participants, boys and girls.
The dancers auditioned in September, creating their own routine to music taken from the 90s. The dancers then performed their own dances along with an opening dance to a Girl Band medley and a finale dance to a Boy Band mix, both choreographed by Miss Bennett. Some of the individual dances included music from the Spice Girls, Blink 182, The Goo Goo Dolls and Faithless. The staff dance to MC Hammer proved to be very popular with the audience.
The pupils had been rehearsing since September, sometimes late into the evenings. We had help from the Technology and Art department along with several invaluable members of staff and other pupils backstage.
This year proved to be very successful, with over 200 audience members and a total of nearly £400 raised. Proceeds from the show will help to fund our cheerleading uniform as well as a netball kit.
I would like to thank everyone who took part, helped and gave up their time to make the show so successful.
I’m now looking forward to next year’s show!
