In Miss Carroll’s Science lesson, 7SE have been learning about the circulatory system as part of the cells topic. Today we dissected sheep hearts. We were able to see that the heart has four chambers, has blood vessels going to and away from the heart and that the left hand side of the heart is much thicker than the right hand side of the heart. This is because the right side has to work very hard to pump blood around the body, making the heart muscle bigger.
Most pupils enjoyed the dissection but a few had to look at a model as they were too squeamish!
